WHAT WAS THE MK FUTURES 2050 PROGRAMME?

The role of the MK Futures 2050 Commission came to a formal end in July 2016 when they published their report.  Picking up on the Commission’s recommendations, the Council’s work to deliver the Six Big Projects was managed through the MK Futures 2050 programme.   The programme consisted of a portfolio of linked projects that would together help to build a stronger future for Milton Keynes, delivering the vision for 2050.

Several of these projects have now evolved to be part of the City Council's core activity rather than being led through the MK Futures 2050 programme, recognising the way the Futures work has become fundamental to our day-to-day work.

PROJECT ONE
GROWTH & STRATEGY

The MK Futures 2050 Commission recognised the opportunities that are created by Milton Keynes position at the hub of the corridor between Cambridge and Oxford.  The National Infrastructure Commission (NIC) has looked at this corridor too...
