Forging the Future

From January - June 2019, the MK Futures team have coordinated a youth engagement programme called ‘Forging the Future’ in partnership with Secondary Schools.

This has covered all Six Big Projects and has engaged more than 150 students over the course of the programme aged between 11 and 18, recording their views and opinions on the future of their city.

In June 2019, the programme culminated in the Year 8 Curriculum Day at Denbigh School with over 250 students in attendance. They focused on project managing various aspects of the MK Futures 2050 programme in one given area of Milton Keynes to shape the community they live in.
